Rachel McAdams attended the 88th Annual Oscar Nominee Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Monday, and she dished about the downside to these awards shows.

“It’s always really not glamorous when you go home at the end of the night,” she said. “It’s so sad. You just like, fall on the floor in a puddle. It’s so fun, but you really do feel like you turn into a pumpkin, in the best way.”

Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Spotlight, Rachel McAdams wore a stunning Elie Saab gown to the SAG Awards, and she shared a little secret about something she allowed her sister’s dog to do following the event. It’s not glamorous, but it sounds like it was fun.

“I shouldn’t say this out loud because Elie Saab might kill me, but I had a great photo shoot with my sister’s chihuahua on the dress after the SAG Awards with the SAG Award,” she explains. “Don’t tell anyone I did that!”

There has to be a balance to this downside of awards shows. Of course winning an Oscar would be the definite upside. Having a bit of fun at the expense of formality no doubt afforded Rachel McAdams a bit of comic relief.

Spotlight received six Academy Award nominations, including Rachel McAdams’ nomination. She stars in the film alongside Mark Ruffalo, Liev Schreiber, and Michael Keaton–and it seems she thoroughly enjoyed the men she worked with.

“They are a good group of boys!” McAdams says.

It will be fun to see who Rachel McAdams wears to the Oscars–and even more fun to imagine what she might do while wearing the gown after the event is over.
