Celebrity couple, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi, celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary this weekend.  The couple, whose relationship has been an inspiration to many, recently had to face ugly rumors and assaults on their personal affairs.

Despite rumors, the couple is intent on showing the world –or at the very least each other– that they are ready to stick it out with their relationship.

De Rossi did so in a grand way by skywriting the word ‘six’ in the clear blue sky last weekend.

DeGeneres, who is known for the extravagant surprises she springs on both her celebrity guests and the audience of her talk-variety show, was clearly delighted to be on the receiving end of the surprise.

She proudly shared a photo on Twitter with the caption: “Look what my wife did for our wedding anniversary. Six!”

The photo showed the happy couple cheek to cheek with the big letters spelling S-i-x in the background.

This is certainly one way to dispel rumors about the troubles they have been facing.

The couple has actually admitted to going through tough times in the past –no different from most other couples. But those close to them say that DeGeneres is willing to do anything to make the marriage work.

“Ellen is very supportive of Portia and has no intentions of leaving her,” a source close to DeGeneres told Radar.

DeGeneres certainly knows not to give weight to false rumors. She even joked about it on an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live: “I read that we were getting divorced, and I went and told [De Rossi], and she was sad. We both were so sad.”

The talk show host also told People: “The truth is, and this is corny, I fall more in love with Portia all the time.”

DeGeneres and De Rossi also bought an upscale Beverly Hills condo earlier this month. However, they may flip it over for a profit. It has been reported that the couple now enjoys doing home improvement projects together after the success of another real-estate venture earlier this year.
