Though none of the announcements during last night’s big PlayStation 4 release event were huge revelations, they did all add up to a fairly substantial look at what is coming in the next few months for Sony’s new console.
Apart from the Uncharted tease and the Metal Gear Solid V exclusive mission announcement, Bungie may have had the biggest news of the night. The studio used the PS4 launch to announce that the beta for Destiny will launch first for PlayStation consoles.
The Destiny beta is currently set for an early 2014 release. Players who pre-order Destiny will gain automatic access to the beta when it launches. Though no details of the PlayStation timed exclusivity were revealed, it’s clear that PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 owners will be playing the game a week or a month earlier than Xbox One owners.
In addition to the announcement, Bungie revealed a bit more of Destiny through a new game trailer. The video shows off what appear to be robot enemies, a variety of large landscapes (including the moon), and a special message of congratulations from Bungie to Sony and PlayStation fans:
