Pinterest has cracked into the top ten list of social media sites. The “vision board” format has caught on and men and women alike are flocking to the site.

However, Pinterest has some well-publicized issues, the main one being their iOS app, which has garnered a 2 out of 5 star rating on the iTunes app store with such recent remarks as “crashes… freezes… love the site; hate the app…”

Into this fray steps Juxtapost.

“Juxtapost was created to address the frustrations we encountered when using the existing social discovery websites currently available. ” said company founder Monir Boktor. “We knew that if we were going to spend time and capital building a site in a crowded field of competitors that it was critical that we provide visitors with a better experience and offer features they wanted but couldn’t find anywhere else. That’s where Juxtapost steps in.”

In addition to the stock features of all social discovery websites, Juxtapost.com includes features such as content privacy settings, intelligent automatic descriptions, image color indexing and hassle-free instant previews.

We’ll keep an eye on Juxtapost to see how they fare int he social media market.
