Payday: The Heist was one of the more interesting games to come out in recent years. It took the concept of cops and robbers to a new level by pitting teams against each other with one trying to coordinate a successful bank heist while the other attempted to take them down. Now the popular game is getting a sequel, and its publisher is funding a live action Web series.
Payday 2 publisher 505 Games hired Demian Lichtenstein, director of 3000 Miles to Graceland, to bring the Payday world to life. He had this to say about the production:
“The Payday web series has been a solid and very close collaboration between all parties involved. I have never experienced such a high level of commitment to excellence from Payday creators Bo and Ulf Andersson, to the rock-solid input of game director David Goldfarb, and the combined efforts of the powerhouse global teams at 505 Games, Starbreeze, Overkill, Solaris, Equilibrium and Lightstone. Simply said, this is the best experience of my career.”
So far, there are only two episodes, but 505 Games will release a new episode every two weeks until the game launches.
Payday 2 will be out on August 13 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
