I seriously thought the folks at Blizzard had gone insane when they announced the latest expansion to World of Warcraft. The idea of an ancient China landscape littered with anthropomorphic pandas seemed like a joke at first. For better or worse, it’s real and it’s coming out on September 25.
Blizzard announced today that WoW players will be able to get their hands on Mists of Pandaria for the reasonable price of $39.99. There will also be a Digital Deluxe Edition available for $59.99. It contains the in-game bonus items included with the Collector’s Edition including an in-game flying mount, in-game pet, StarCraft II Battle.net portraits, and Diablo III Baner Sigil and Accent.
The physical Collector’s Edition will cost the usual $79.99. It will include all the in-game items from the Digital Deluxe Edition alongside a making of DVD/Blu-ray, Soundtrack CD and mouse pad.
Interested players can pre-order the digital versions through Battle.net right now. Doing so will ensure that the game is pre-loaded before launch. After being pre-loaded, you’ll be able to jump right into the game as soon as it launches on September 25.
“Mists of Pandaria contains the biggest variety of new content we’ve ever created for a World of Warcraft expansion, with features that will appeal to new players, veterans, and everyone in between,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’ve received a lot of great feedback from players during our most extensive beta test yet, and we hope they enjoy exploring everything Pandaria has to offer when the expansion comes out in September.”
New features in Mists of Pandaria include a new playable race, a new playable class, a new continent and a level cap set at 90. Other new features include a new cooperative PvE trial, challenge modes and a new pet battle system.
