When Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom decided to separate, after only three years of marriage, they wanted to keep things as civil and comfortable for their three-year-old son Flynn as possible.
It looks like they are doing a great job, and they have both spoke positively about one another on more than one occasion.
During Monday’s episode of Good Morning America, Kerr, an Australian native model, boasted about what a great father Bloom is to her son. “I think it’s really important to have two happy parents and he is really happy and I am happy,” she explained. “He is a great dad and I feel really lucky to have him in my life.”
Kerr has made a name for herself in the fashion industry, and has worked with companies that include Reebok, Calvin Klein, Wonderbra, Victoria’s Secret and H&M. According to Forbes, Kerr was the second highest paid model in 2013 when she made $7.2 million.
Kerr admitted that she was okay with the thought of her body never being the same after having Flynn, and that she wasn’t in any hurry to get back to work. “It starts inside really so when you feel good about within yourself then you will be kind to yourself and want to eat healthfully. And when you’re eating healthfully, you are getting more energized,” she said. “I had to surrender completely to the fact that maybe, you know, maybe my body would never get back to shape, and I was fine with that.”
Kerr and Bloom remain friends, but have both decided to move on. During an interview with British GQ, Kerr revealed that she was enjoying the single life and dating. “I’m dating. I’m loving it. Two happy parents are better than two unhappy parents. This is my time to explore and have some fun. I’m not looking to fall in love again quickly,” she said. “I still get chatted up a lot. I’ve had some crazy, ridiculous proposals—stuff that you wouldn’t even see in the movies. No blind dates, however, and I never google a man’s name before I meet him.”
