Nvidia is reportedly raising its GPU prices across its entire lineup, with customers looking a 10-15% increase as a result of multiple issues the company is facing.
Nvidia is the world’s leading GPU maker, with its chips used for gaming and AI development. The latter, especially, has been a boon for the company, with its GPUs among the most sought after by virtually every major AI firm.
Unfortunately for customers, Tom’s Hardware is reporting that Nvidia is raising prices by 10-15% across its entire portfolio. The price increase is the result of rising manufacturing prices, as well as tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.
Nvidia is working to move its Blackwell chip production to US factories, in partnership with TSMC. The plans were announced in mid-April 2025.
“The engines of the world’s AI infrastructure are being built in the United States for the first time,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “Adding American manufacturing helps us better meet the incredible and growing demand for AI chips and supercomputers, strengthens our supply chain and boosts our resiliency.”
Interestingly, the move to US-based manufacturing is one of the factors that is causing an increase in costs. As many experts have pointed out, moving advanced manufacturing from overseas to the US brings a number of challenges, especially for something as complicated as semiconductors. Entire ecosystems, complete with supporting companies, exist overseas. Duplicating that in the US will take time, and will often result in higher manufacturing costs until those ecosystems can be built. In addition, labor costs in the US are higher, which will have a permanent impact on costs.
Despite the increased pricing, it’s unlikely demand for Nvidia’s chips will soften, especially given how important they are to the AI revolution.
