Rumors of the release date for the much-anticipated Nokia Lumia 900 have been all over the place. Last week we brought you a story about rumors that the Lumia 900‘s anticipated release date had been moved from March 18th to April 22nd.

Now it looks like both of those dates may be wrong. A person claiming to be an assistant manager at an AT&T store in California posted on The Verge’s forum last night that his/her store was preparing for an April 8th release of the phone. The poster was very impressed with the demo model their store had received. The poster also said that the phone would initially be available only in black and cyan, with a white model coming later depending on the phone’s sales.

This report is, of course, completely unverified. Pretty much anybody can post anything on an online forum. The Verge, however, is also reporting that they have heard that Microsoft Stores were planning on a release sometime in the second week of April (which begins on Sunday the 8th). Assuming that their second source is correct, then April 8th looks like a likely release date for the Lumia 900.

Nokia originally announced the Lumia 900 at CES 2012, where it received a generally positive response. It runs Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and includes a 1.4 GHz processor, 8 megapixel camera, 4.3-inch AMOLED display, and 4G connectivity. While rumors have put the price at $99 with a 2-year contract, there has been no confirmation of that from either Nokia or AT&T.
