Nina Dobrev and Nikki Reed will never be friends. After all, Nina used to date Ian Somerhalder and now Nikki is married to him. The two women may have been uncomfortably close to one another on Monday evening, however. It’s unknown if they actually crossed paths.

Both Nikki Reed and Nina Dobrev attended the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards on Monday. Nikki Reed wore a strapless silver tea-length gown. Nina Dobrev wore a peach colored low-cut dress with spaghetti straps.

Of course it’s likely that had Nina and Nikki crossed paths that each would have behaved admirably. Shortly after Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder split up, and he began dating Nikki Reed, things might not have gone as smoothly.

It was rumored that Nikki Reed often visited Ian Somerhalder on the set of The Vampire Diaries where he co-starred alongside Nina Dobrev. That reportedly made Nina very uncomfortable.

It was also rumored that months later, when Nikki and Ian tied the knot, that Nina Dobrev didn’t get an invitation. That isn’t true, however.

“She was invited. She actually thought about going, but in the end Nina decided it would just be too awkward,” a source tells HollywoodLife.

Nina Dobrev is in a very good place these days. She recently went public about her latest relationship with Austin Stowell.

Sure, if Nina Dobrev and Nikki Reed came face to face at this Elle Women in Hollywood Awards, it might have been mildly uncomfortable, but it seems like enough water has flowed under that proverbial bridge by now that the two could handle themselves just fine.
