Nicole Kidman recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote her new movie, Paddington. Kidman and Fallon started recounting the first time that they met, but it turns out, they both have different recollections of the encounter. According to Jimmy, a mutual friend was in New York with Kidman at the time. The friend offered to bring Nicole to his apartment, and Jimmy thought it was to meet him for a role in a movie, so the comedian frantically bought cheese and crackers for the Hollywood star.
Turns out, Kidman had other intentions for meeting with Fallon. “I liked you,” Nicole said, interrupting Fallon’s story. The talk show host was clearly shocked, and Kidman continued with her side of the story. Nicole explained that she was single at the time, and that she was interested in Fallon. Again, the Saturday Night Live alum expressed disbelief. Kidman continued her story. According to her, he met her wearing a baseball cap and sweatpants and he didn’t say anything to her the whole time. Instead, he puts on a videogame.

Kidman thought that he wasn’t interested or that he was gay. “After about an hour and a half, I thought, ‘He has no interest. This is so embarrassing. And then I left and thought, ‘OK, no chemistry. Maybe he’s gay,” Kidman joked. Nevertheless, she admits that Fallon blew his chances at ever dating her. Jimmy, embarrassed, ran from the stage while Kidman got behind the desk. A flustered Fallon said, “’I can’t believe I dated Nicole Kidman.” Nicole replied with, “You didn’t.”
And while Fallon may be kicking himself in the head for blowing his chances with Nicole Kidman, the actress said it herself: it just wasn’t meant to be. Back in 2006, Kidman married country star Keith Urban. They have two children together. Fallon also has two children with his wife, Nancy Juvonen.
