The anacondas of the internet have spoken: Nicki Minaj’s new music video is the shit!
The music video to Minaj’s single “Anaconda” is a new viral sensation, having amassed an incredible 19.6 million views in just 24 hours.
This number sailed passed Miley Cyrus’s own previously held Vevo record of 12.3 million views in a single day, which she earned for the “Wrecking Ball” video.
The sexy video features Nicki Minaj twerking in the jungle, twerking in the gym, and twerking while preparing some kind of delicious dessert featuring whipped cream and bananas.
How very unsubtle.
It also seems to strongly suggest that the booty-bouncing trend is still going strong.
Even Taylor Swift got in on the act during a portion of her “Shake It Off” music video.
However it seems that the self-declared “Queen of Rap” has the milkshake (or is that booty shake?) that brings all the boys to the yard.
Minaj was super excited to learn that she broke Vevo’s record, opting to share the “A$$mazing” tweet through her Instagram account.
According to the 31-year-old, her song wasn’t just an opportunity to share her voluptuous figure with the world. There was a deeper message involved.
Said Minaj, “I wanted to reinstate something. Because of the shift in pop culture, even hip-hop men are really glorifying the less curvy body,” the recording artists explained. “I wanted to say, ‘Hey ladies, you’re beautiful.’”
That explains the throwback to “Baby Got Back” in the song, which had its own message glorifying more curvy women. Sir-Mix-Alot gave the “Anaconda” music video his seal of approval on Twitter:
Ok after watching @NICKIMINAJ Anaconda 37times I only have one word to sum up my feelings. DAMNNNNN!!!!!! #AnacondaVideoOnVevo

It seems almost everyone is loving the sexy video. Almost everyone.
Since the controversial cover image dropped, some folks feel that Nicki Minaj is showing far too much skin and that her song is just too raunchy.
