  • New Girl has a new girl on set! Megan Fox arrived on Monday to film her first major TV role since Hope & Faith.

Megan Fox is only filling in for the star of New Girl, Zooey Deschanel, while she is completing her maternity leave.

Zooey Deschanel revealed on Monday that she thinks Megan Fox is going to rock New Girl.

She said of New Girl‘s new girl, “I’m super excited. Essentially, [my character Jess] gets on jury duty and has to be sequestered, so the roommates rent out her room for a few weeks.”

She added that Fox is “going to be fantastic” on New Girl.

Zooey Deschanel can relax and enjoy the last few weeks she has at home with her new girl.

Deschanel recently revealed her daughter’s name, and to the surprise of no one, it’s adorable and a little dorky.

Elsie Otter is the name. Why Otter? Well, Zooey loves otters.

The New Girl star said of the name on Today, “We just really liked the name Elsie and then we both love otters — they’re very sweet and they’re also smart.”

She added, “They use tools … they hold hands while they sleep, there’s so many amazing things about otters. They’re wonderful animals.”
