Netflix is reportedly rolling out a major update for its Android app, with version 3.0. Apparently it’s a slow roll-out, which is why you (like myself) may not be seeing it just yet.

Android Police reported on the update, saying that the interface is completely revamped. Ryan Whitwam reports:

The overall layout hasn’t really changed, but everything is much sharper. The screenshots and covers seem nicer and the entire app feels completely different the instant you touch it. Scrolling actually… you know, scrolls. It’s as smooth as any app I can think of now, which is saying a lot when you consider where we’re coming from. In addition to the much smoother UI, the app now has a proper action bar up top with the overflow menu button on the right and hamburger navigation drawer opposite that. The trigger for the drawer is a little small, but it does what it’s supposed to.

You can head over to the blog for some screen caps of what it looks like.

Apparently it also works better with Chromecast now.

As Jacob Kastrenakes over at The Verge notes, still missing from the update are the user profiles that Netflix recently launched. These are present on other apps like for iOS, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

When profiles first launched, Netflix indicated that a lack of resources within the profile team was the reason for the Android delay. They’ll come sooner or later.

Keep an eye on Google Play for the update.
