MLB The Global Crossing Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) allows MLB.com’s subscribers to watch a full season of 2,430 live games — in high-definition (HD) video quality — and to have real-time access to baseball news, statistics, in-game video highlights and other information about their favorite teams and players on their computers and mobile devices.

"Adopting managed services allows us to focus our internal resources on core competencies while servicing day-to-day requirements through technology delivered as a service," said Joe Choti, chief technology officer, MLB.com

"We selected Global Crossing because they were able to deliver the bandwidth and scalability we needed while being continuously accessible and meeting a number of significant challenges."

Global Crossing installed 155 Megabits per second (155Mbps) fiber optic access loops at each ballpark and a 2.5 Gigabits per second (2.5Gbps) access loop in New York to allow connection to Global Crossing’s network.
