We reported earlier today on Google’s bombshell announcement of cheap 1Gbps fiber internet for the folks of Kansas City, KS and MO. It was a pretty huge deal because Google is not only getting into the ISP business, but they’re also becoming a TV provider.

You can peruse all the details from our original post, but know that Google Fiber is about to change everything. We’ve talked about how slow our Internet is compared to the rest of the world and how we also pay too much for the speeds we get. Google is changing the rules for the better and ISPs should take note. While Verizon charges over $200 for their weak FiOS fiber network, Google is offering an entire cable TV package plus Fiber internet for only $120 a month.

You can read about Google Fiber all you want, but to see it in action is simply beautiful. I may be overreacting a little bit, but I truly do believe that Google Fiber can do a lot of good in driving U.S. innovation. If it can make ISPs like Verizon, Comcast and Time Warner start competing instead of driving monopolies, even better.

Check out the entire announcement with amazing demonstrations aplenty below. You’ll also get your first look at the hardware that Google is building for the launch of Fiber.
