Michelle Shocked has released a new album and it is now available for purchase on cdbaby.com!
You should know before you go that the album is composed entirely of nothing. The 11-track Michelle Shocked album is composed of songs that are supposedly pitched too high for human ears. They are for dogs to listen to, not you.
Michelle Shocked named the songs after executives and other top players in the music industry, specifically the digital and streaming crowd.
The album is appropriately titled Inaudible Women and Michelle Shocked says that she made it for dogs.
Michelle Shocked says in her strange video,
“I decided that I was going to make a high album — in fact, the highest album ever made, just so that my friends Spot and Rex can hear it, not audible to human ears,” she says while sitting next to two dogs. “And to raise money for my fall tour.”

Michelle Shocked is having money troubles because of her own decisions. She says the music industry has destroyed her career, thus the tracks on Inaudible Woman with music executives’ names. However, she alienated a huge chunk of her fan base by going on a rant last year in San Francisco in the middle of a show.

Michelle Shocked said,
“I live in fear that the world will be destroyed if gays are allowed to marry.” Michelle Shocked later added, “You can go on Twitter and say, ‘Michelle Shocked says God hates fags.’”

Doesn’t Michelle Shocked know that gay rants are kryptonite to one’s career? She should know that by now.
After her rant Billboard journalist Chris Willman wrote about it, earning him a song on Michelle Shocked’s new “album”.

Michelle Shocked is hoping to pay for her fall tour with album sales, so if you like the sweet sound of silence…this is going to be your new fave.
