Michelle Rodriguez and Paul Walker were together when the Fast & Furious franchise started. And they were together when Walker died one year ago during the filming for the seventh installment of the film.
Now Rodriguez joins Vin Diesel, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, and other family and friends in remembering Walker on the one-year anniversary of his death.
Walker was 40 years old when he died in a high-speed car crash near Los Angeles. In his time on this planet, he affected more people than most even realize. It’s not even a matter of his films. Walker’s father says that Paul didn’t even like the business he was in, but he saw it as a means to an end: helping other people.
“Paul said one time, ‘I really don’t like this business, but I can do a lot of good with the money I make,’” his father said. “Paul just radiated love and you can’t fake that. Paul had a really good heart. I thought, ‘How did I deserve such a wonderful son?'”
The “lot of good” his father talked about was Paul’s charity, Reach Out Worldwide. Walker founded the organization after working in the aftermath of the earthquakes in Haiti in 2010. According to the ROWW website, “Paul Walker saw a gap between the availability of skilled resources and the requirement for such personnel in post-disaster situations.”
No doubt it was this kind of heart for helping that Michelle Rodriguez and others saw in Paul that made them remember him fondly this holiday season.
I love you Paul. Your living in the hearts of all who love you for sure. Sending mad love out to Heaven @SupportROWW pic.twitter.com/q9qDx8PXob
