Mega Millions fever is not burning nearly as hot as Powerball fever.
However, there actually was a Mega Millions winner this weekend while the Powerball jackpot grows on.
The winner of the Mega Millions jackpot only got about $165 million. Not much in comparison to the over $1 billion waiting to be won from the Powerball jackpot.
But nothing to sneeze at.
The winning Mega Millions ticket was sold at Staten Island, New York’s Willowbrook Deli.
As of late Saturday night, the buyer of the Mega Millions winning ticket remained unknown.
Deli manager Sarbjit Singh said, “I hope it’s a regular customer.”
He also added that the winning Mega Millions ticket sale has definitely increased lottery sales for the deli.
He said, “We are crazy right now with the Powerball.”
Locals who live close to where the winning Mega Millions ticket was sold admit that the big win inspired them to pick up a Powerball ticket from the deli and some came back for more, hoping the deli was lucky.

Perhaps the lucky Mega Millions winner will take something away from cautionary tales like that of Evelyn Adams.
She won the New Jersey lottery twice, in 1985 and 1986, collecting a total of $5.4 million.
She said, “Winning the lottery isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be.”
She continued, “I won the American dream but I lost it, too. It was a very hard fall. It’s called rock bottom.”
Rock bottom indeed. Adams is now broke and living in a trailer.
She blames the downfall on moochers and her gambling problem.
She said, “Everybody wanted my money. Everybody had their hand out. I never learned one simple word in the English language — ‘No.’ I wish I had the chance to do it all over again. I’d be much smarter about it now.”
So, Mega Millions winner, take this account and those of the hundreds of other lottery winners/losers out there into consideration when you collect that large check amid the flashing cameras!
Do you think, if you won the Mega Millions sum, you would go crazy until it’s gone or would you be smarter about it?
