Lori Loughlin is in. Everybody knew she wanted to, and fans were certainly eager to have her on board. But now it’s official: Lori Loughlin will be part of Fuller House, the spin-off of Full House that aims to revive the success of that series.

Lori Loughlin made the announcement on Good Morning America.

“I’m very excited,” she said. “Officially, I am going to be a part of the reboot, or spin off, Fuller House.”

Technically, Fuller House is not a reboot, but simply a spin-off. That can be confusing since it is so far removed in time from the original series, which ran from 1987 to 1995. So it’s been 20 years since the last episode hit. But since the new Fuller House continues with the same characters and most of the same actors, it is a long-delayed spin-off.

“It’s going to be really great to be back with the whole cast. It’ll be a lot of fun,” Loughlin said. “We’re going to help Candace [Cameron Bure], Jodi [Sweetin] and Andrea [Barber] spin off the new show. So we’ll come back and do the first episode and maybe throughout we’ll pop up here and there.”

So she will not be on the show full time.

Fuller House will star original Full House kid Candace Cameron Bure as D.J. She will play a recently- widowed mother raising her own children in the same house the original Full House series was set in. She is joined by her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber).

When asked about whether she was disappointed that the Olsen twins had declined not appear in the new show, Lori Loughlin said, “We would’ve loved it. It would’ve been great, but I understand.”

Lori Loughlin said that she thinks the success of the original show was due in large part to the chemistry of the cast. “I think it’s one of the reasons it was so successful because I think you really could tell we enjoyed being with one another. We truly, truly had a great time. Doing that show was one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. It was just so much fun..”

Lori Loughlin told People Magazine that she felt the new show could be just as successful as the original.

“I think with Jeff Franklin at the helm – he’s the creator of Full House – it’s hard to go wrong because nobody’s more protective of that show than he is,” she says. “That’s his baby.”
