Have you heard about Lollipop Chainsaw yet? It’s the newest game from Suda51, a Japanese developer who always finds the most absurd concepts and makes them into the most compelling games. While his last game featured a crude Mexican demon hunter chasing Satan through hell, his newest game may be the strangest yet.

Lollipop Chainsaw is about a cheerleader with a magical chainsaw slicing through legions of the undead. It’s the ultimate mash up of cute and gross with hearts and flowers erupting from the zombies as they are sliced down.

Warner Bros. has so much faith in the game that they had famed horror director/writer James Gunn, who previously worked on Slither and the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake. He will be writing the script for this game and collaborating with the genius mind of Suda51 to make this the best game it can possibly be.

The newest trailer released this morning announces the amazing range of voice talent that will bringing the game to life. The lead role of Juliet Starling will be performed by Tara Strong who has voiced numerous roles in games and animation over the years including Harley Quinn from last year’s Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Michael Rosenbaum, who you may know as the actor who played Lex Luthor in Smallville, will be performing the role of Nick. He’s Juliet’s boyfriend who has been reduced to a talking head.

One of the more interesting casting choices is Jimmy Urine as Zed, one of the zombie leaders. Fans will know Urine as the front man of the band Mindless Self Indulgence. He will be composing some of the music for the game’s soundtrack as well.
