Lady Gaga recently opened up about being raped when she was only 19 years old. Gaga was recently interviewed by Howard Stern, and when he brought up her performance at South by Southwest, where artist Millie Brown vomited paint on her, Gaga opened up about the rape.
Gaga said that the incident was symbolic of how she felt after she was raped as a teenager. She also said that the song she was singing at the time, Swine, was about rape and sexual abuse.
“I wrote a song called ‘Swine,’ the song is about rape, the song is about demoralization,” she said. “The song is about rage and fury and passion, and I had a lot of pain that I wanted to release.”
Gaga wasn’t willing to go into much detail about her ordeal though.
“You keep alluding to – were you raped by a record producer?” Stern asked. “Is that what happened?”
“I don’t want to be defined by it. I’ll be damned if somebody’s gonna say that every creatively intelligent thing that I ever did is all boiled down to one d—head that did that to me,” she told Stern. “I’m gonna take responsibility for all my pain looking beautiful and all the things I’ve made out of my strife. I did that.”

Although Gaga wasn’t willing to name names, after the interview Kesha’s attorney suggested that Dr. Luke may have been the person who assaulted Gaga. Kesha has accused Dr. Luke of abusing her mentally and sexually and blamed her eating disorder on him as well.
Dr. Luke’s attorney denied that he was responsible for the abuse of Gaga and said that he wasn’t around Gaga during the time period that she says she was raped.
Gaga may never say who was responsible for her sexual abuse, but it is clear that she is not ashamed of it and will not let it hold her back from anything.
