Nintendo announced a new collection of Kirby games back in April, but it was somewhat overshadowed by the simultaneous announcement of New Super Mario Bros. 2. The details on the Kirby game were slim, with Nintendo only stating that the game would be a collection of “fan-favorite” Kirby games on a disc for the Wii.
Today, Nintendo is giving Kirby fans a preview and several new details about what will be in Kirby’s Dream Collection. The box art for the title has been released, as has a teaser trailer for the game. The games included in the collection include three Gameboy titles: Kirby’s Dream Land, Kirby’s Adventure, and Kirby’s Dream Land 2. Two Super Nintendo titles, Kirby Super Star and Kirby’s Dream Land 3, are also included, as well as the Nintendo 64 game Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Nintendo has also stated that Kirby’s Dream Collection will include new challenge stages. The box art for the title implies that the special edition of the game will come with the game’s soundtrack and a collectible art book. It is unknown whether the special edition is a more expensive version of the collection, but Nintendo has a limited history with “special edition” versions of games, which usually involves gold cartridges.
Kirby fans will certainly be spending many hours this fall reliving the childhood glee of vacuuming up baddies and stealing their powers. With all of the games in the collection, it could even overshadow some of the new Wii U games coming out. Take a look below at the teaser trailer and the box art for Kirby’s Dream Collection:
