Nintendo is bringing back their classic franchise, Kid Icarus, for the first time in over 20 years with Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS. Their making the deal a little sweeter if you preorder.
Nintendo announced today that gamers who preorder Kid Icarus: Uprising from select retailers will get a code to download a 3D remastered version of the original NES classic, Kid Icarus.
For those who are only familiar with the new Kid Icarus and it’s main character Pit from games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the original game was more like Castlevania It emphasized 2D platforming and exploration in a game that was charming while being pretty difficult.
It also featured one of the most interesting villains of classic gaming – the Eggplant Wizard.
The new game, Kid Icarus: Uprising, is being developed by Sora, the team behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Sora was founded by Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Kirby and Super Smash Bros. It abandons the platforming elements of the old Kid Icarus titles to instead focus on a more action oriented third-person shooter gameplay style.
You will be able to get the original 3D remastered Kid Icarus if you preorder from Amazon, Best Buy or GameStop.
