Kendall Jenner aims to distance herself in some ways from the Keeping Up with the Kardashians brand. sure, she knows she has the Kris Jenner genes to thank for her good looks, and she knows that she would not have the jumping-off point for a career in fashion without her family name. But Kendall Jenner also wants to set her own brand.

When Kendall Jenner did the cover shoot for the latest GQ, she set about shedding the KUWTK trappings. In the process, she shed some clothes. (The pic you're looking for? It's just down below. Stick with me.)

Last year, Kendall Jenner made headlines when she walked the runway billed only as "Kendall," her first stab at establishing herself as a one-name superstar. She's already become one of the darlings of Karl Lagerfeld. But Kendall didn't just go whole hog, walking any runway that would have her and her famous surname.

She told Harper's Bazaar recently:

"I started this hoping that it would have longevity. I didn't come into this thinking it's going to be a fun thing that I'm going to do on the side. It's something I want to do my whole life. It's a career, so I needed to be really gentle with it. We had to pick and choose things very specifically."

Striking out on her own in fashion is something that Kendall Jenner takes very seriously. In fact, the usual entourage of cameras for E! are not allowed. She told GQ:

"I told them from the beginning, I was like, 'Okay, love you guys, but we're not gonna do this. You're not gonna follow me to shows, you're not gonna be with me on this ride.'"

As a result, Kendall Jenner is crafting something she can call her own.

"This past year has changed my life in so many ways. I've met so many people, I've been so many places. When you look back at it, it's pretty crazy. I'd love just continuing that, continuing to grow."
