Mobile shopping is huge. That much was clear in some pre-holiday statistics from Google that said holiday shoppers demanded the same experience across both mobile and desktop. One of the things standing in the way of that is making checkout easier on mobile, but a solution is now available for merchants with Android apps.
Jumio announced this morning that its Netswipe Mobile application is now available for Android phones. Previously only available on iOS, Netswipe Mobile takes advantage of an Android phone’s camera to scan a credit card and easily add its payment information into the checkout page of a mobile app that has integrated Jumio’s software.
Why would an online business want to integrate Netswipe Mobile into their app? Jumio CEO, Daniel Mattes, says that “Netswipe can be integrated into any Android app to increase conversions by shortening mobile checkout times as well as making payments more secure and convenient for users.”
Jumio’s Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, Marc Barach, tells us that Netswipe Mobile is also ideal for small businesses that offer a mobile shopping experience:
Merchants, especially small businesses, carefully allot their time, money and resources to get consumers to complete the checkout process within their mobile sites and apps. At Jumio, we know every dollar and every customer counts, so we made Jumio’s card scanning technology easier for both parties – it dramatically shortens the customer’s checkout time and merchants see both an increase in revenue and conversions up to 20 percent.
The best part about all of this is that it’s fast and easy. Businesses can integrate Netwsipe Mobile into their Android or iOS app in less than 30 minutes. It can also be changed to suit the design of your Android app. Lastly, it supports all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
