JonBenet Ramsey, whose 1996 murder has never been solved, was only six years-old when she died.
Before that, she had been heavily involved in beauty pageants and had won several titles. After her death, her parents were considered prime suspects but have since been cleared of any suspicion of wrong-doing. However, many people still feel that pushing their child into pageants was a form of bad parenting in itself, and now her father has admitted he agrees. Twitter reactions varied from support to disbelief.

Tomorrow onJohn Ramsey has written a new book detailing the story and other details of his life, titled “The Other Side Of Suffering“. He talks about his book with ABC news, and about the beauty competitions his daughter took part in. He says the influx of “kiddie pageant” reality shows on television today disturb him, and that his wife and JonBenet only looked for the fun in them without taking them too seriously.
John’s wife, Patsy, died of ovarian cancer in 2006.
