  • Jill Duggar and hubby Derick Dillard have come under fire in recent days, with some folks thinking they’ve scammed them out of money donated toward their mission trip to Central America.

It was last week when the Dillard family once again touched down on U.S. soil–their second trip home this summer–for the wedding of 19 Kids and Counting cousin Amy Duggar to Dillon King. Several people who donated money for the couple’s missionary work via their website seem a bit perplexed by two trips home to the U.S in such a short period of time.

“So what exactly are you doing to help people in El Salvador? Your donors would like a detailed statement of what their money is being used for,” one Facebook comment reads. “As far as I can see, all you guys are doing is going to Spanish class and making fun of the locals. Oh, I forgot. You also did that stupid interpretive dance thing. Have you done anything worthwhile to actually help people, or are you just there to convert Catholics?”

“Jill, how did you spend my donation for your mission trip?” another user asks. “Where are the pictures of the hospital, schools and bible studies you helped with? Can you post them so I can show everyone why I donated to your cause?”

Jill Duggar Dillard posted a throwback photo for Throwback Thursday via her Instagram account. Might it be in response to those questioning exactly what she and her husband are doing in Central America?

“My heart aches for the hardships these people are facing daily due to pressure and violence from the gangs. Please pray for their safety!” she wrote. “We look forward to returning there to continue ministering after language school!” she captioned it.

Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, posted to their Dillard Family website on Thursday, too, updating followers on why the family is back in the U.S.

“Jill, Israel, and I recently arrived back in the States for a planned, month long trip to take care of some things and enjoy time with family and friends while we’re here, before heading back to Central America,” he wrote.

Jill Duggar Dillard and her family attended Amy Duggar and Dillon King’s wedding with most of the 19 Kids and Counting family. Josh Duggar didn’t attend, as he is said to be at a rehab facility called Reformers Unanimous receiving therapy for his sex addiction. Earlier in the summer Josh made news for having sexually molested five underage girls when he was a teen. Jill Duggar and sister Jessa Duggar Seewald were among his victims. More recently, Josh Duggar admitted to having an addiction to pornography and to cheating on his wife, Anna Duggar.

Hopefully there is no truth behind some of the innuendoes about Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard misappropriating funds they received for their work as missionaries.

Do you believe either Jill Duggar Dillard or her husband would do such a thing?
