Indianapolis 500 Broadcast to Unveil New GoDaddy Ad

Domain hosting company GoDaddy.com is set to once again to sponsor Sunday’s broadcast of the Indianapolis 500. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the famed race.

The company, known for their advertisements that ask audiences to “see what happens next” will also be unveiling a new commercial during the broadcast. The new ad will star Danica Patrick, who will be driving the GoDaddy #7 car in Sunday’s race.

The storyline for the commercial, titled “Pitches” will take up where the previous Danica Patrick-featured GoDaddy commercial left off. That commercial, entitled “The Contract” aired during the super bowl.

GoDaddy Twitter followers were directed to their Facebook page where fans could see a very brief sneak preview of the new commercial. When the commercial airs on Sunday, it will end in normal fashion, asking users to visit GoDaddy.com to see the rest.

GoDaddy’s motorcycle-riding and endangered-species-hunting CEO Bob Parsons had this to say about the new ad:

“This commercial is fun, edgy and slightly inappropriate – it’s about as GoDaddy-esque as it gets. This ad starts in a garage and ends up … well, it’s safe to say it puts Danica in an environment few people have ever seen her in.”

And Danica Patrick added this:

“Bob was my good luck charm at last year’s Indy. As far as my new Go Daddy commercial goes, viewers are going to be guaranteed a ‘sweet ride’ and that’s all I’m going to reveal. You’ll just have to tune in to ABC TV and then check out GoDaddy.com Sunday!”

Although the “racy” GoDaddy ads are meant to spark a bit of controversy, it is highly doubtful that anything could match the firestorm around the Bob Parsons Elephant Killing Video.

Well, unless the big reveal involves Danica in an elephant-ear bikini top.
