In the past, a cracked cell phone screen meant having to buy a new phone, which is good news for the cell phone company, but bad news for the customer. That’s all about to change, however, thanks to HTC.
The HTC Corporation is offering to repair cracked screens for six months for those who have purchased HTC One phones in the United States, as part of its new program, HTC Advantage. The company will only repair one cracked screen per phone.
Fixing the screens is a way for the company to “address a leading consumer frustration.” This may cause some to believe that HTC phones are prone to cracking, but that may not be the case.
This news could be a way for the smaller HTC company to compete with bigger cell phone carriers, like Apple and Samsung. Although the HTC One has received good reviews, HTC only makes up about five percent of the cell phone market.
Simply ship your crippled phone to the company for the repairs. Although free shipping is available, you may be out of a phone for about two weeks.
If you’d rather deal with a cracked screen than not have a phone while it is getting replaced, don’t fret; HTC will send you a replacement phone while yours is in the shop, for a mere $29.
