What’s a text without an emoji? Boring, that’s what it is. If I don’t let you know that what I just said comes with a smile, a wink, a frown, or a kiss – well then how the hell are we supposed to communicate?
Emojis aren’t really supposed to depict real, human faces, real, human faces sure as hell aren’t supposed to look like emojis.
How do I know this? Because, gaaaahhhh what the f*ck?
That question, “Who’s really chatting online with your child,” is the work of Innocence en Danger, an international non-profit devoted to combating child sexual abuse.
“Innocence en Danger operates throughout the world, with partners who share the same objectives. IID thus brings together militants, Internet specialists, jurists, political decision-makers, businessmen, media and national action groups to sensitise world opinion on the increasing problems of paedo-criminality,” says the organization.
Creepy, yet effective.
