Twitter announced some updates to its mobile apps to give users some new photo editing options and quick access to more content.

The new photo editing capabilities allow you to crop by selecting an aspect (like square or wide), and rotate an image before you share it. It will also provide a reminder to @mention your friends when you upload a photo of people.

The update also adds more content to the timeline when the tweets run out. If you pull down your home timeline to refresh it, it will show recommended tweets and trending topics, and suggestions for new accounts to follow when there are otherwise no new tweets to view.

U.S. users will also see TV, sports and news events updates.

The updates are currently available for Android, and will hit Twitter for iPhone soon.
