Students at MIT converted one side of the Green Building at MIT into a full color working version of the game Tetris.

According to IHTFP: Interesting Hacks To Fascinate People: The MIT Gallery of Hacks, Hackers at MIT consider Tetris on the Green Building to be the "Holy Grail of hacks".

The Green Building is home to the MIT Earth and Planetary Sciences department. With square evenly spaced windows, it was the ideal place for the game.

The hack began with the word "TETRIS" scrolling down the side of the building. When play commenced, each level would get progressively paler, making it difficult to identify which type of block you had to work with. The last level involved colors shifting on-screen, making it even more difficult.

According to BostInno, this kind of hack has been done before. Students at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands accomplished a similar hack all the way back in 1995.
