  • Gwen Stefani admitted on Tuesday night, while a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! something most of her fans expected was true. Her new song, “Make Me Like You,” is, in fact, about Blake Shelton.

“You had a neon sign that said ‘Blake’s’ [in the video],” Kimmel mentioned to Gwen Stefani. “Was that for Blake Lively or Blake Griffin?”

“That was just a coincidence, I don’t know why they put [it]. That was weird,” she replied.

“That song is about Blake Shelton?” Kimmel asked about “Make Me Like You.”

“It is, actually,” Gwen Stefani admitted. “I will admit that song is about that guy.”

Gwen Stefani and “that guy” started dating last fall when both served as coaches on The Voice. Since the season ended, the two have remained a couple, clearly growing closer all the time.

Stefani went on to explain that her upcoming album was inspired by the end of her marriage to Gavin Rossdale, who allegedly cheated on her with the family nanny.

“What’s so crazy is like sometimes tragedy…if you really absorb it, you can turn it into something beautiful,” Gwen told Jimmy Kimmel. “And this whole album is really about just taking something awful, and…healing from it, and turning it into something beautiful.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were most recently spotted together at a pre-Grammy Awards party, where she was sitting on his lap. In recent weeks they’ve been spotted in L.A., in his small hometown in Oklahoma, and spending time as a family with Gwen Stefani’s kids.

What’s your take on Gwen Stefani writing a song about Blake Shelton? Do you expect these two are in it for the long haul? Can their romance stand the test of time?
