Google [X] Is Reportedly Working On Futuristic Screens

Google has a lot of interesting projects in the works. Some of the most interesting ones are taking place under the Google [X] branch, including self-driving cars, Google Glass, Project Loon Internet balloons, smart contact lenses, and product delivery drones.

Google [X] has reportedly added another one to the mix with giant display screens that you can make into different sizes and shapes. The description according to The Wall Street Journal’s sources: “A display composed of smaller screens that plug together like Legos to create a seamless image…With the modular pieces, the screen could be made into different sizes and shapes.”

Google isn’t yet commenting on the project.

According to the Journal, the project is being led by Mary Lou Jepsen of “One Laptop Per Child” fame, who has also co-founded three companies that deal in display technology, including Pixel Qi.

In addition to Google [X], Google has another branch called Google Y, which is reportedly working on ideas for new airports and concepts for cities.

Then there’s the robot lab. And the anti-aging company. Yes, Google is doing some interesting things these days, and somehow lego-like TV screens is actually one of the least interesting of all of these projects.
