Google announced a couple of reporting enhancements for AdWords flexible bid strategies, including strategy-level insights and statuses.
The strategy-level report shows how bid strategies are performing, and lets advertisers compare metrics such as conversions, cost, and CPA. Changes can be made accordingly directly from the report.
“Let’s look at an example strategy-level report for Artisan Pizza,” Google illustrates in a Google+ post. “The report below shows how the company’s target CPA bid strategy drove 500 new conversions with an average CPA of $18 during the week of Sept 28th. Artisan Pizza now has the performance data it needs to optimize its CPA strategy, and can easily make changes right from the report with one click on the Edit Settings button.”
The strategy-level repot includes a “bid strategy status,” which shows whether strategies are running at their “full potential”.
“There are a few different states for your strategies,” explains Google. “For example, a ‘_learning_’ status means your bid strategy needs more time to optimize your bids, while you may need to make changes to a ‘_limited_’ bid strategy before it can fully optimize.”
The updates are in the process of rolling out to all advertisers globally. They can be found on the bid strategies page of the Shared library.
