George P. Bush Files To Run For State Office

Being a member of one of the most famous families in the country must come with some pressures, especially when you’re a driven young man. Now, following in the footsteps of those who paved the way before him, George P. Bush is ready to go into office.

The 36-year old son of Jeb Bush–and nephew to George W.– made a campaign filing in Texas on Wednesday, although it’s unclear just yet which area he wants to delve into. He spoke earlier this year about a desire to run for office, but has yet to be specific. He has previously worked as a lawyer and became a partner in a real estate investment firm, both of which would help him in a political career (if the name alone wasn’t enough in Texas). Although he hasn’t spoken publicly about his decision, he has already garnered support from some friends.

However, the Bush name is often associated with harsh criticism, which he will undoubtedly face once he’s further into the spotlight. Twitter users took to the social media site today to discuss the news.
