Gay Waitress Reportedly Lied About Donations

Dayna Morales, the waitress who claimed a couple had written a hateful note on the receipt in lieu of a tip, was called out by that couple soon after her story went viral. They provided copies of their receipt and a bank statement, which showed they left a nice tip, and said they were supporters of gay rights. Now, the story is getting even thicker.

Morales received thousands of dollars in donations from strangers all over the country after her story hit the web; being a gay woman, Morales had posted her story on Have A Gay Day’s Facebook page, and the tale was especially heartbreaking due to Morales being an ex-Marine.

“I am THOROUGHLY offended mad pissed off and hurt that THIS is what her kids will grow up learning and that I served in the Marines to keep ignorant people like them free. Sorry lady but I don’t agree with YOUR lifestyle and the way you’re raising your kids but you didn’t see me throwing that in your face and giving you shitty service. Keep your damn mouth shut and pray we never cross paths again,” Morales wrote.

After news broke that Morales had made the story up–something she still denies–she told the media that all the money given to her had been donated to the Wounded Warriors Project. However, an investigation into that claim by Bridgewater Patch shows that no donations were given to the organization by anyone with that name or in her zip code.

Morales has been suspended from her job at Gallop Asian Bistro during an internal investigation.
