The family of a Hollywood studio exec is turning to Twitter and Facebook to help track him down, as he went missing last Tuesday from the home of a friend.
The 57-year old didn’t pick up his son from school on Wednesday, and that worried his family so much they immediately reported him missing. They say he isn’t the type to run off without telling anyone; he was simply staying with a family friend on Tuesday night after returning from a convention in Las Vegas and was to return home the next day, but no sign of him has been seen and he never called in to work. His belongings were found untouched at the friend’s home; they say he left around ten p.m. wearing lounging clothes, which speaks to the fact that he wasn’t planning on going out in public.
Smith, who is associated with such huge blockbusters as “Avatar” and the Star Wars trilogy, has worked for 20th Century Fox for several years and is fairly well known in the business, but his family says he has no enemies they can think of. Smith’s wife, Lisa, says she last spoke to him on Tuesday night when they made arrangements for him to pick up their son from school.
“We know someone knows something. There’s no doubt that someone knows something,” she said.
Smith’s son, Evan, is a basketball star at USC and has taken to Twitter to spread the word about his father in the hopes that someone will step forward with information.
