Get ready Garth Brooks fans, because Garth is ready to start touring again. He recently announced on Good Morning America that he plans to start his world tour soon. He did not say when the tour will start or give any details about it, but seemed excited to share the news with his fans.
“You know what, since it’s you and since we’ve had a history forever, let’s announce it. We’re going on a world tour in 2014,” Brooks told Roberts today on “GMA.” “I can’t believe I just did that but you are a doll.”
In 2001, Garth announced that he planned to stop touring and spend time with his young daughters. Brooks spent 4 years performing at the Wynn Encore Theatre in Las Vegas. He recently released his new album, “Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences.” The album is a collection of his greatest hits and includes a DVD of his Las Vegas show.
Brooks said that before he would start touring, he had to get the approval of his wife Trisha Yearwood and daughters, but wasted no time saying that they were fine with his return. Even when Brooks was performing at Wynn, he made sure to make it to all of his children’s special events and often brought them to Las Vegas to be with him.
“It sure feels good to get to throw your hat back in the ring,” Brooks told Roberts. “All my babies are fine with it. Ms. Yearwood is fine with it. So now I get to do what I love to do, which is play music. I get to be with the person I want to be with, which is Ms. Yearwood. Our baby is a senior in high school,” he said. “My children are off on their own so the guilt of not being there…I’m a phone call dad now. ‘Hey, Dad, I love you, can I borrow some money?’’
Brooks said he plans to do a couple more shows at the Wynn before he starts his world tour. Are you excited for the return of Garth Brooks and do you plan to attend any of his concerts?
