Fred Willard has always seemed like a kindly, silly older gentleman who would never do anything as crass as whip it out in a porn theater, but apparently when the mood strikes, anyone is capable of doing seedy things.

If the name doesn’t sound familiar, you might know him as “that guy who’s in everything”; he’s also a successful character actor who lists several Christopher Guest films on his resume (“A Mighty Wind”, “Best In Show”). Sorry to bring you this news, because it’s doubtful you’ll be able to look at him the same way afterward.

While doing a random walk-through of Hollywood’s infamous Tiki Theater, LAPD officers caught Willard with his penis out and in his hand and promptly arrested him on charges of lewd conduct. He was released on bail shortly after.

Does anyone remember when Pee-Wee Herman (Paul Reubens) was busted doing the same thing? It was a huge scandal at the time, and his reputation was marred forever. Of course, he was the host of a children’s show, but if you know your Pee-Wee history, the show “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse” actually started out as an adults-only stage production with naughty references to sex and the like. People seemed shocked that Reubens was a normal guy who happens to like porn rather than a child-like dork, as his alter-ego would suggest.

Anyway, here’s hoping Willard isn’t followed around by this too much. The unfortunate thing is that his upcoming movie is called “The Yank”. You can’t make this stuff up, people.
