Foursquare Adds “Nearby Maps” To Business Pages

Foursquare wants to be your go-to place for all things location, and that includes exploring a new city.

Now, when you visit a business’ Foursquare page, you will see all of the locations that are nearby your own location. For instance, say you’re in Lexington and don’t know where you can find a Starbucks to get your caffeine fix – just head on over to Starbuck’s Foursquare page and you’ll be presented with a map of all known locations:

The “nearby map” is on hundreds of business pages and Foursquare says that many more are on the way. Currently, you can check out all of the MoMA locations while visiting New York, or find the nearest 24HourFitness to get your workout on in any city you might find yourself.

If you are a business and want your locations to be listed like this on your Foursquare page, you can follow these steps.

Earlier this month, Foursquare brought their “explore” engine to the web, meaning that it’s no longer a mobile-exclusive feature. Foursquare Explore is powered by check-ins and tips to give users personalized recommendations about their surroundings.
