  • Final Fantasy fans have been eagerly anticipating the HD remakes of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 for a while now. However, a valid question is whether a graphical remake can justify replaying hundreds of hours of gameplay (including grinding out Blitzball and dodging those lightning strikes). Today, Square Enix began enticing JRPG fans with a few details and a demonstration of just how sharp the new visuals are.

    The publisher today announced that pre-orders for the PlayStation 3 version of the game will come with a 24-page artbook full of concept art. The “upgrade” to this limited edition of the game is free for those who pre-order. In addition, Square Enix confirmed that the versions of Final Fantasy X/X-2 included in the HD remaster are the international versions of the game, which were only ever released in Europe and Japan.

    For those who aren’t interested in new content or artbooks, a new trailer for the HD remaster was also released. It compares, side-by-side, the visuals in the original Final Fantasy X with the Final Fantasy X HD Remaster:
