With the popularity of smartphones came the unfortunate reality that nothing one does is private anymore, and anything done in public can easily be photographed, recorded, and uploaded to the web for millions to see. Now, a U.S. air marshal is facing charges after he was caught taking upskirt photos of a passenger with his phone.
28-year old Adam Joseph Bartsch was arrested on Thursday while on duty after a passenger on a Southwest flight saw him taking photos of a woman without her knowledge and informed a flight attendant. Bartsch was removed from the flight and handed over to police at the Nashville airport, delaying the flight for over an hour.
“We removed a passenger from Flight No. 3132 from Nashville to Tampa prior to departure due to a Customer concern that was brought to our attention,” Southwest said in a statement. “We turned the matter over to local law enforcement, and the passenger did not travel as scheduled.”
The TSA also released a statement on the incident, saying, “TSA does not tolerate criminal behavior. The agency has removed this individual from his current duties and is in the process of suspending or terminating his employment. TSA is cooperating fully with investigators.”
