In February, Facebook announced that it had reached its milestone of 2 million active advertisers. Now, just seven months later during Advertising Week, the company announced it has grown that number by 25% since then.

“Since February of this year, Facebook has seen 25% growth in the number of active advertisers and now has 2.5 million advertisers using the platform to connect people and businesses,” a spokesperson for the company tells WebProNews. “These connections are increasingly happening on mobile and Facebook is working to build the tools advertisers need to reach people on mobile and effectively measure the impact of mobile campaigns.”

Of course Facebook has some new announcements for advertisers. One is Target Rating Points (TRP) Buying. This is a new way for advertisers to b buy Facebook video ads using TRPs as the metric. With this, marketers can plan campaigns across TV and Facebook with a total TRP target. They can buy a share of TRPs directly with Facebook.

Facebook also announced brand awareness optimization, which the company describes as a new solution that enables advertisers to maximize and better measure brand awareness generated by Facebook campaigns by optimizing reach and attention.

The company also announced a new partnership with Millward Brown Digital on Brand Lift Insights for Facebook and Instagram, which will let advertisers conduct mobile polling so they can measure campaign effectiveness right from the ads. This is also available through Nielsen.

Those who want to utilize mobile polling are advised to reach out to their Facebook sales representative.

Finally, advertisers will now be able to add video to the carousel format on Facebook. This will roll out this week in Power Editor with availability in the Ads Create Tool coming within weeks.
