Facebook announced some updates to its Ads Manager and Power Editor tools in what make up the first major changes to both since they launched. The company says they’ll make it easier for advertisers to buy, optimize, and manage their ad campaigns on Facebook.
“We’ve been working closely with marketers and agencies of all sizes to understand what they need to improve the process of buying, optimizing and managing their ad campaigns,” said Matt Idema, Director of Ads Product Marketing, Facebook. “These significant upgrades to Ads Manager and Power Editor reflect our commitment to drive measurable business objectives.”
“Ads Manager continues to be the single destination for advertisers to create, edit and analyze Facebook ads, and now it features a streamlined layout that brings performance metrics to the forefront of the tool,” Facebook says in a blog post. “That means advertisers can quickly reference how their ads are performing in the same environment where they create and edit them.”
The Manage Ads section is the homepage. It shows the ad account’s spend over the past week, and when you click a campaign, ad set or ad, it shows performance, audience, and placement results. You can adjust the date range and filter data by objective, metric, delivery status, etc. You can also automatically save and send reports at set intervals.
Additionally, it will let you create and edit multiple ads simultaneously with bulk editing.
The new version of Power Editor (pictured at the top) has a larger layout with advanced search and bulk editing . There’s a new edit pane for editing ads and viewing campaign info. You can also select multiple ads. The search feature lets you find ads, ad sets or campaigns by name or ID with filters for delivery status and objective.
The new versions of both tools are being kept to limited testing for the time being, but Facebook expects to roll them out more generally over the coming months.
