Like all ecommerce sites, Fab.com wants you to do a good majority of your holiday shopping on their site. The busy season is fast approaching for online retailers, and Fab has just announced a pretty hefty incentive for those trying to decide which quirky online shop they want to patronize.

Today, Fab is launching a free shipping initiative. A permanent free shipping initiative.

That’s right, this isn’t just a holiday promotion. The company has weighed things out and decided that free shipping was the way to go moving forward.

“Our team conducted a thorough business analysis and refactored our technology to enable this great benefit for our customers. Globally. We specifically planned Fab’s Free Shipping to launch today, November 15, in time for the holidays — and it’s here to stay. It’s not just a holiday promotion. We believe that the best shipping is fast and free,” says CEO Jason Goldberg.

And the free shipping is global. As long as you spend more than $75 (€70), your entire order will ship for free. Fab says that this covers about 98% of the products found on the site, with the only exceptions being big bulky items like some furniture or more delicate items like some lamps. For those items, they have to pay a bit more to make sure they get to you unharmed. I mean, nobody wants a broken lamp for Christmas.

If the product you desire is available for free shipping, you’ll see a little truck icon next to it.

This is a pretty significant move for Fab, who is trying to break into a market filled with offbeat, design-oriented ecommerce sites. When customers are looking to spend a decent amount at an online boutique, they’ll likely remember that Fab has free shipping – always.
