Evelyn Lozada has had a turbulent couple of years; the “Basketball Wives” star went through a very public divorce from former Miami Dolphin Chad Johnson after filing domestic violence charges against him.
The reality star announced last month that she’s expecting her second child (she has a 20-year old daughter from a previous relationship), and though there was some speculation that the baby belongs to Johnson, Lozada has confirmed that she is indeed engaged to Carl Crawford of the L.A. Dodgers. Lozada posted a photo of her enormous engagement ring on Instagram with a caption that said simply, “YES!”
The ring was designed by Jason Arasheben from Jason’s of Beverly Hills, who has created beautiful sparklers for stars in the past, including Dwayne Wade.
“Carl has been a longtime client of mine and I knew immediately that he was really smitten and in love and wanted to make a statement that would light up the Christmas tree as well as the bride-to-be,” Jason told People Magazine.
As for her career, Lozada has said that if she was offered a spinoff of her own, she would think seriously about taking it.
“You know, reality TV, even though there’s a lot of negativity, it’s been more positive for me,” she told “omg! Insider.” “I was able to do a lot of things because of the show, so I’m not one of those people that just bashes it when it’s done … I was able to put my daughter through college because of it, I’ve been very blessed because of it. So if I was given a spinoff, I think I would do it because you’re more in control of the show, you’re an executive producer. You really get to see everything that’s going on. So, you know, if it made sense for me and my family, I probably would.”
