Erika Christensen is engaged to boyfriend cyclist Cole Maness.
Generally, Christensen and Maness keep their romance private. However, the pair rarely shy away from documenting their romance in quirky social media pictures and posts. For now, the couple remains silent about their engagement details and plans. US Weekly‘s source revealed that Christensen plans to delay wearing the ring in public. She’s also very busy finishing up Parenthood‘s final season, so the wedding doesn’t have a set date yet.
Maness often visits Christensen on the set of Parenthood. He recently posted some behind the scenes pictures of her at work.
Christensen spoke to GENLUX magazine and gave more insight into her relationship with Maness.
The couple met at a bike race. “He knew who I was, and I knew who he was, so both of us were playing it cool and wouldn’t talk to each other,” she shared. Maness and Christensen then reached out to one another via Twitter.
It took him three weeks to ask her out. Their date got delayed because at the time she was in New York. When she finally returned to California she sent him a text saying, “I wonder if I can trick Cole into asking me out to dinner.” They’ve been together ever since that text.
US Weekly got the Parenthood actress to share a little more details about the couple’s daily life. “My bike is my main form of transportation, so I’ve got a red clip-on taillight. Sometimes, my boyfriend and I do evening rides to the movies or grocery store,” Christensen said.
Maness gave her a pocketknife once, which she always carries now. “He said it’s bad luck to give a knife as a gift and wanted me to buy it for a penny. I bought it with a kiss instead,” she revealed.
