A few days ago, Australia’s Women’s Daily publication reported that Emma Watson and Prince Harry are secretly dating. Of course, people all over the world freaked out and some people even took to Twitter to share their reactions. “If Emma Watson gets to be both Hermione Granger and a princess, she will have officially lived all of my dreams,” one fan tweeted. And while the thought of Watson becoming a real-life princess is definitely an entertaining one, unfortunately it seems that it’s all just wishful thinking.
Watson herself squashed the rumors on her Twitter. Watson posted, “Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?!” She sent out another tweet saying, “also… marrying a Prince not a prerequisite for being a Princess.” The second tweet included a link to a scene from Alfonso Cuaron’s 1995 film A Little Princess.

Emma Watson previously said in an interview with Australia’s Elle magazine that she doesn’t date people who are famous and that she prefers to keep the personal details of her life private. “I don’t date people who are famous, and I don’t think it’s fair that, all of a sudden, intimate details of their personal life are public as a direct result of me. I wish I could protect them,” Watson said.
During the interview with Elle, Watson also talked about her views regarding self-esteem issues. “I can take criticism on the chin a lot more. As a younger woman, that pressure got me down but I’ve made my peace with it. With airbrushing and digital manipulation, fashion can project an unobtainable image that’s dangerously unhealthy.”
She added, “It makes me sad to hear girls constantly putting themselves down. We have these unbelievably high expectations of ourselves, when actually we’re human beings and our bodies have a function.”
